Bal Mithai
They called their new home Kumaon and are said to have made this sweet as an offering to the Sun God, who they called Baal. Over the centuries, Kumaon became part of India and Bal Mithai came down the generations to become one of the flagship desserts of Uttarakhand


Aloo Ke Gutke
An authentic recipe from the Kumaon part of India which is the land of Pahari Aloo gutke is a simple, dry potato subzi that is served as a side dish or eaten with roti (flatbread) or puri (fried flatbread). Very popular among locals, it is easily available. It is made without garlic and onion.


Mandua ki Roti
Mandua ki roti in Uttarakhand is the local term used for chapattis which are made from the cereal called Mandua. Mandua ki roti is one of the principal types of main courses native to this region and representative of the local cuisine. It is the staple dish hence it remains obvious that the stress is given on a wholesome healthy diet which is rich in carbohydrates and food value.


Bhang Ki chuteny
This is a popular dip and a condiment to the meals in the pahadi cuisine. Pahadi literally translates to the mountainous regions. The hemp seeds being high in protein and nutritionally superior forms the base in many properties around this region.
